Jim has a long track record of standing up for rural Scotland. He ran a successful family farm in the Yarrow Valley, and was a Director of NFUS before being elected in 2007. Born in Peebles and raised in Selkirkshire, he is a real Borders man.

Liam has served Ministers at the highest level of Government. He was special advisor to Deputy First Minister Jim Wallace and took over from Jim as MSP for Orkney in 2007. Mad about football, Liam is married to Tasmin and has two young sons.

Alison has lived and worked in Aberdeenshire for 25 years. A councillor for 15 years, Alison has a broad range of experience in helping people at the most local level. She is married to Tom and they have two grown up children.

Tavish has been an MSP since the Scottish Parliament reconvened in 1999. A former Transport Minister and leader of the party, Tavish is a tough scrutiniser of Government policy. He is married to Kirsten and has four children.
