SNP must answer questions over cost of Ryder Cup trip

Commenting as the SNP government refuses to answer questions about how much the First Minister’s trip to the Ryder Cup cost the Scottish taxpayer, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP said:

“The Ryder Cup may have been a good opportunity to promote Scotland but it's very important that the Scottish Government is open and transparent as to what it cost and what investment was secured in return.

"This Government has an addiction to secrecy but it just makes us more suspicious not less.

"If the Ryder Cup trip for the First Minister and his officials was such a success the Scottish Government should not be afraid of telling us what it cost. By not answering these questions the First Minister is treating taxpayers with contempt."
