Nationalist campaign detached from majority of Scots

Commenting as a poll published today reveals that support for independence has dropped to 30%, Scottish Liberal Democrat deputy leader Jo Swinson MP said:

“The Nationalist campaign cannot hide from the fact that they are completely detached from the majority of Scotland.

“And the news gets worse for the nationalists. When a third option is added to the choices available, independence drops to the third most popular option.

“Most people wish to see a stronger Scottish parliament within a United Kingdom.

“As the party of Home Rule, we welcome these results today. We look forward to getting the referendum out of the way so we can get on with the task of delivering a Home Rule parliament for Scotland.”
