Commenting as the National Union of Students Scotland warns that colleges are not getting enough money to support students, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP said:
Willie Rennie MSP“Scottish Liberal Democrats have repeatedly called on the Scottish Government to use the unexpected consequentials they received from the UK Government to fill the college funding gap.
“College Principals are already speaking out about the difficult financial circumstances they face, even before the Scottish Government’s £40 million cut has been to their made to the budget. That cut is only going to put more places and teaching posts at risk.
“The SNP need to realise how important Scotland’s colleges are. They need to stop the dither and delay, fill the funding gap and protect further education in Scotland.”
