Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Willie Rennie MSP and Liberal Democrat Scottish Secretary Michael Moore MP have congratulated Johann Lamont as she is elected as the new Scottish Labour leader, with Anas Sarwar elected as her deputy.

Willie Rennie MSPCommenting, Mr Rennie said:

“Well done to Johann and Anas on their wins.

“Our parties have worked closely in the Scottish Parliament through the coalition of the first eight years and I am sure we can work together where we agree in this session.”

Mr Moore commented:

“My congratulations go to Johann Lamont on her election as Scottish Labour Leader and to Anas Sarwar on his election as Deputy Leader. I wish them well for the future.
