Jo Swinson has warned Scottish Labour that more borrowing will not solve Scotland's economic problems.
Jo Swinson MPShe also reminded them that it was exactly that approach that got us to a position of paying back £200 million a day in interest alone - enough to build a new primary school every single day.
This comes as Labour launches its plans for jobs in Scotland.
Commenting, Ms Swinson said:
“Labour is right to urge the Scottish Government to do more to boost growth.
“But their own economic plans just don’t make any sense.
“At a time when the UK Coalition Government is trying to deal with Labour’s legacy of debt they want to borrow more, splash out on tax cuts and put their faith in gimmicks that just won’t work.
“Until Labour learns that you can’t borrow your way out of a debt crisis, they will have no credibility on the Scottish economy.”
