Commenting as the SNP publish their Strategic Spending Review, Scottish Education spokesperson Liam McArthur MSP said:

“This SNP budget will have confirmed the worst fears of those running Scotland’s colleges.

“No one doubts the difficult task facing Mr Swinney but the decision by Ministers to slash college funding is hard to square with the stated objective of delivering for skills and growth in Scotland. Decimating college funding is a decision that more than Mr Swinney may well come to regret in the years ahead.”
