Reacting to the news that the SNP had decided to downgrade the Dunoon-Gourock ferry service to passenger-only, Alan Reid MP said;

“It is a disgrace that the SNP have broken yet another promise. Not content with breaking their promise to build two new vehicle ferries for the route, they have now broken their promise to keep vehicle ferries on the route.

“The extra sailings are welcome, but there was nothing to stop the SNP adding the extras sailings whilst keeping vehicle ferries on the route.”
