Commenting on the news that Clostridium difficile infection rates in those aged 65 and over have fallen by 37% in the last year, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie said:

"It is encouraging that C.Diff infection rates amongst those aged 65 or over have fallen in the last year but there is absolutely no time for complacency.

“Scottish Liberal Democrat plans, published in our manifesto yesterday, will ensure hospitals have to abide by scrupulous standards of cleanliness. This will continue to drive down hospital borne infections rates in Scotland."
