Commenting on Lord Advocate Elish Angiolini’s warning that an "apocalypse" beckons if the country does not get to grips with its alcohol problem, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie MSP said:
“Alcohol abuse can ruin lives. The key change that is needed in Scotland is a change in the drinking culture. The 2005 and 2010 Act go a long way to tackle access to alcohol, irresponsible promotions and underage drinking.
“In particular I am glad that ‘Challenge 25’ is now mandatory for all retailers and should have a positive effect on Scotland’s bad relationship with alcohol.”
