Commenting on the news that MacMillan Cancer Support has called for urgent reform to the long term care of cancer patients, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie said:

“Liberal Democrats understand the crucial issues raised by MacMillan Cancer Support. Cancer patients undergoing treatment must be given the support they need during and after treatment.

“Liberal Democrats believe that action to improve the support available for those living with cancer must be a priority. Our proposals also recognise the key role that specialist nurses play in improving patient care and supporting patients to be cared for as locally as possible.”
