Early intervention measures needed to tackle low life expectancy

Commenting on the news that life expectancy figures in Scotland are amongst the lowest in the European Union, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie said:

“Scotland has still not shaken off the 'sick man of Europe' tag. We have a considerable amount of work to do to improve these woeful statistics.

“Scottish Liberal Democrats have real solutions. Our proposals will see
greater investment in early intervention and preventative health measures so that we can tackle the root causes of low life expectancy in Scotland.”
