Dunfermline Lib Dems were out in force at last week’s conference in Perth. Speaking to Dunfermline Press after the conference, Jim Tolson said;
“The local party was in good spirits. I think we have a strong message to put to Dunfermline voters. I have spoken to many residents who were surprised and disappointed at the last General Election result when we lost a hard working and charismatic MP in Willie Rennie. Dunfermline and West Fife voters have a simple choice this May. A Lib Dem MSP or Labour MSP. It is either Jim Tolson or Alex Rowley. A vote for any other candidate is a wasted vote!”
“I believe the Lib Dems have a good message to tell for May. We have a manifesto which will show how we will create jobs, give local people a real say in what happens in their communities and how we can improve services in what is the most difficult financial circumstances Scotland has ever faced”.
Jim added;
“I think I have a good record of getting on with the job and doing what is best for Dunfermline and West Fife. I do not carp and blame everyone else. I am not constantly asking for more money and calling for someone else to solve the problem. I work with others and my record can point to success in housing, planning, the Forth crossing, working to bring new employment opportunities to Dunfermline and West Fife, and supporting funding for local colleges and students. I am working hard with my colleagues to get this message out throughout the constituency and we are finding people very supportive. I think when faced with the choice of forward thinking, working positively and enthusiastically with partners or old fashioned tribal politics – the Lib Dems will win every time.”
