“Save RAF Leuchars” task force to take petition to Downing Street

Representatives of the Save RAF Leuchars campaign – Residents Action Force Leuchars – will be presenting a petition to Number 10 Downing Street which opposes any threat to the future of RAF Leuchars.

The petition which has over 7,000 signatures from the local area is backed up by over 23,000 people on a Facebook page who have expressed their opposition to the potential closure of the base.

The Task Force representatives will also be meeting with James Arbuthnott MP who is the Chairman of the Defence Select Committee while in London.

The group who will presnt the petition to 10 Downing Street are Sir Menzies Campbell MP, Iain Smith MSP, Carroll Finnie (Leuchars Community Council Chair and Vice Chair of “Residents Action Force Leuchars”), Allan Russell (Chief Executive of Fife Chamber of Commerce), Councillors for the Tay bridgehead ward Tim Brett and Ron Caird and Thomas Docherty MP.
