Alan Reid MP condemned the SNP for betraying the people of Dunoon by taking away the vehicle service between Dunoon and Gourock town centres.

Mr Reid said;

“The SNP have betrayed the people of Dunoon. They only won the Argyll & Bute seat at the last Scottish Election because they promised two new vehicle ferries for the service to Gourock. Not only have they never built these ferries, they have now announced that the service will go passenger-only on 1 July. This will be a severe blow to Dunoon’s economy. Winning Argyll & Bute constituency gave the SNP their one-seat majority in the Scottish Parliament. This SNP Government has been all based on a lie.”

Notes: Four companies have expressed an interest in operating the passenger-only service - CalMac, Western Ferries, Clyde Marine Services Ltd and Highland and Universal Securities Ltd.
