Commenting on the preliminary publication of the report by Lord Penrose on the inquiry concerning those who were affected by tainted blood products in the 1970’s and 1980’s in Scotland, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie MSP said:

“We welcome this preliminary report from Lord Penrose on the unacceptable blood contaminations which arose during the 1970’s and 1980’s.

“The outcome of this enquiry must be to ensure that a scandal like this never happens again and we look forward to Lord Penrose’s conclusions.”
