Commenting on the announcement that Strathclyde Police could lose 210 jobs by a recruitment freeze, Liberal Democrat Justice spokesperson Robert Brown MSP said:

“Strathclyde Police’s decision to freeze recruitment very publicly undermines the Justice Secretary’s pledge to increase the number of police.

“This promise, like so many before it, is starting to have a hollow ring about it.”
