Drop in hospital acquired infections figures must not result in complacency: Finnie

Commenting on the drop in the number of cases of MRSA reported in Scottish Hospitals in January to March of this year, Liberal Democrat Health spokesperson Ross Finnie MSP said:

“NHS staff across Scotland deserve praise for their efforts in improving cleanliness in hospitals, reducing the number hospital acquired infections among the elderly.

“However there is no room for complacency in the fight against hospital acquired infections.

“The Health Secretary must ensure that cleanliness in hospitals remains a top priority for health boards across Scotland.”
