Commenting on the official launch of Creative Scotland, Liberal Democrat Culture spokesman Iain Smith said:

"Following years of dither and delay as a result of the incompetence of the SNP Government, I welcome the fact that Creative Scotland has finally started work today.

"I wish the new Chairman Sandy Crombie and Chief Executive Andrew Dixon every success in meeting the challenge of setting a clear strategy and direction for Scotland's creative industries, in particular how it will sustain and improve Scotland's diverse culture in the face of the difficult financial times ahead.”
