Health Board elections may help community hospitals

Jim Hume, Liberal Democrat MSP for the South of Scotland, is encouraging people to vote in the health board elections for Dumfries and Galloway NHS Board.

NHS Dumfries and Galloway is one of the two boards taking part in the pilot elections across Scotland.

Mr Hume said:

“The topic right at the top of the election agenda will undoubtedly be the controversial issue of the proposed closure of five community hospitals across the region.

“I hope that whoever is elected to the board takes full consideration of the mass public opposition to the proposed closures of community hospitals.”
