Commenting on news that Labour candidate for Moray Stuart MacLennan has been deselected, Liberal Democrat Shadow Scotland Secretary Alistair Carmichael said:

“The Labour Party has been forced to sack a candidate who was clearly young and inexperienced.

"This whole debacle only demonstrates the weakness of Labour in Scotland.”
