Commenting on the change to the bank holiday in 2012 for the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, Liberal Democrat Culture Spokesman Iain Smith MSP said:
“As always, confusion reigns with the Scottish Government. They can’t even sort out a public holiday.
“Monday 4th of June will not be a holiday for everyone in Scotland. Some people will have to go to work on Monday and then have to take a day off on the Tuesday.
“Surely it would make more sense to have the Jubilee Holiday on the Monday so we could all enjoy it.”
