Commenting ahead of Gordon Brown’s speech at the Labour Party conference in Glasgow, Liberal Democrat Shadow Scotland Secretary, Alistair Carmichael MP said: “Labour’s latest pledge card is merely a fig leaf covering their embarrassment of letting people down.

“In 13 years they have failed to deliver a country that is fair.

“Labour will be judged on their record rather than their promises.”
