Nicol StephenCommenting on the announcement that the Glencraft factory in Aberdeen is set to be saved by the creation of a new company, Liberal Democrat MSP for Aberdeen South Nicol Stephen said:

“Aberdeen City Council deserve high praise for their efforts to keep Glencraft alive.

“The former staff of Glencraft have had a torrid time this Christmas. They will be thrilled that Hogmanay has brought hope of a new start for the company.

“There is a long way to go and much to be done before the new company opens its doors. All partners involved in arranging the funding package must ensure that it is watertight.”
