Commenting as the SNP Government abandons its class size pledge, Liberal Democrat Education spokesperson Margaret Smith MSP said:

"The SNP have failed to deliver on what they called their ‘hallmark’ education policy at the last election. It was promised in Parliament personally by the First Minister.

“No-one will believe a word they say at the next election.

“Their flagship has sunk. There is no point promising exactly the same thing next time."
