People of Glasgow let down by Labour and SNP - Brown

Commenting on the news that Glasgow City Council is considering a plan to cut £30 million from its budget including axing around 600 jobs, Liberal Democrat Glasgow MSP Robert Brown MSP said:

"The people of Glasgow are being let down by Labour and the SNP.

"They have been let down nationally by Labour's recession. They have been let down in Scotland by the SNP's tight financial settlement for the city.

"Now they are being let down locally by the Labour council. These planned cuts will hammer vital public services and community centres across the city.

"Hitting ordinary people at the very moment when they need these jobs and services more than ever is extraordinarily short sighted."

Ends.
