Commenting after campaigning with former party leader the Right Honourable Charles Kennedy MP, Liberal Democrat candidate in the Glasgow North East by-election Eileen Baxendale said:

“It’s clear that Labour’s recession is damaging business. Voters here have had enough.

“I have spoken to many local people who were adamant that they would never vote Labour again.

“Liberal Democrats are the real alternative to voters.

“Our positive campaign for fairer taxes and a sustainable economy to see us through the recession is being well received by people on the streets of Glasgow North East.”
