Lloyds workers facing death by a thousand cuts - Scott

Commenting on the latest announcement from the Lloyds banking group that up to 2,100 jobs are to be cut over the next three years in the UK with as many as 350 of these coming from Scotland, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott said:

“It is very disappointing that yet more jobs are to go as a result of Labour’s banking shambles.

"Scotland is losing vital and valuable headquarter posts. Responsibility for these job losses lies squarely with Alistair Darling and Gordon Brown, they forced through this takeover.

“This latest announcement of job losses must feel like death by a thousand cuts for Lloyds workers.

“How many more lives will have to be ruined before the Labour Government take responsibility for this shambles?”

Ends.
