Review of Training for Work scheme needed - Lib Dems

Commenting after attending a summit on how better to support individuals and businesses through the economic downturn in Glasgow today (Monday), Liberal Democrat Education spokesperson Hugh O'Donnell MSP said:

"Today's summit has highlighted the need for the Scottish Government to respond proactively and support businesses and individuals faced with redundancy.

"Ministers must ensure that PACE gets together with employers much earlier if alternatives to closure and redundancy are to be discussed in any meaningful way.

"Liberal Democrats fully support calls for a review of the way that PACE and the Training for Work scheme operate to improve how they support businesses and individuals through the economic crisis."
