Commenting on calls for Scottish Water to be mutualised to pay for the
construction of the new Forth Crossing, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader Tavish Scott MSP said:
Tavish Scott MSP“The mutualisation of Scottish Water is something that should be looked at seriously and is something the Liberal Democrats would support.
“However, the funding for the new Forth Crossing could be secured by the Scottish Parliament if new borrowing powers were introduced. The Scottish Government should free up civil servants to negotiate the details with the Calman Commission.
“I can not understand why Alex Salmond will not allow officials to enter into negotiations that would ultimately benefit the people of Scotland."
