Commenting on a report from the Transform Scotland Trust suggesting that Scotland’s economy could benefit by up to £4 billion a year if Scots cycled as much as people in other parts of continental Europe, Liberal Democrat Transport spokesperson Alison McInnes said:
“I welcome this report from the Transform Scotland Trust. Scotland is
currently way behind other European countries in terms of the provision of infrastructure for cycling.
“Liberal Democrats have long supported campaigns such as SPOKES in Edinburgh that want to see better cycling infrastructure.
“We want to see the Scottish Government do more to highlight both the economic and health benefits of cycling.”
