Tavish Scott leader of the Liberal Democrats in Scotland led a protest against the takeover of HBOS at the meeting of Lloyds shareholders in Glasgow today.
Commenting after the protest Mr Scott said:
“I want to keep these two great banks independent. Lloyds shareholders are quite entitled to vote for the “deal of the century” as their chairmen described the takeover.
“The labour Government has to explain why losing thousands of banking jobs, branches across Scotland and competition is a price worth paying to force through this takeover.”
