Lib Dems respond to East Lothian Labour Party suspension

Amy Rodger, the Liberal Democrats' Westminster parliamentary candidate in East Lothian, has responded to the news that the Scottish Labour Party has suspended its East Lothian constituency branch.

"If the Labour party themselves don't have the confidence in their MP in East Lothian, I fail to see how residents in the county can be expected to. Labour are fighting amongst themselves in East Lothian rather than getting on with the job of representation.

"I'm shocked that this whole saga is as yet unresolved. If Labour can't sort this out without months of infighting, it's not surprising they're making such a hash of running the country.

"Come the next election, Labour's record will contrast with that of the Liberal Democrats who have been delivering for the county at Council, Scottish Parliament and European levels: they will have the chance to finish the job, and elect a Liberal Democrat MP."
