Liberal Democrat Shadow Health Secretary Ross Finnie MSP has signalled his support for Glasgow and Clyde GPs’ campaign Keep health visitors in GP practices.

Today GPs are warning that patient care could be compromised if plans to remove health visitors from GP practices go ahead.

Commenting, Mr Finnie said:

“I am extremely concerned to hear GPs’ fears that removing health visitors from their practices will compromise patient safety.

“Over 400 GPs have contacted the Health Board to protest about these plans. The Health Board cannot ignore the voices of the professionals on the frontline of patient care.”
