Following the publication of the Audit Scotland review of major capital projects in Scotland, Liberal Democrat Finance spokesperson Liam McArthur MSP has demanded the Scottish Government publish clear plans about how the new Forth crossing will be funded.

Commenting, Mr McArthur said:

“There are lessons for the SNP Government in this review. Audit Scotland is clear that the risk of cost overruns and delays can be minimised by clear and certain planning.

“The Government’s refusal to publish details about it how it proposes to fund Scotland’s most iconic construction project, the new Forth crossing, flies in the face of this guidance.

“Ministers must bring forward clear plans as a matter of urgency.”
