Liberal Democrat MSP for Central Scotland Hugh O’Donnell has congratulated North and South Lanarkshire Councils for successfully bidding to host the 2011 mini Olympics.

Commenting, Mr O’Donnell said:

“I’m delighted that the mini Olympics will be coming to Scotland. This is a fantastic opportunity for Lanarkshire and Scotland.

“I hope that young people from Lanarkshire and the rest of Scotland take inspiration from the mini Olympics in 2011 and indeed the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games and really get involved in sport and exercise.”
