Commenting on the demonstration at the Scottish Parliament held by students of the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama to protest at a funding shortfall, Nicol Stephen, Leader of the Liberal Democrats in Scotland said:

“A solution to this funding shortfall needs to be found, and found quickly.

“The Government should have urgent discussions with the funding council. The sum of money involved is not huge, yet the damage that could be done to Scotland’s international reputation for drama could be serious.”
