Reacting to the outcome of the parliamentary debate on Edinburgh’s trams project and the Edinburgh Airport Rail Link (EARL), Leader of the Liberal Democrats in Scotland, Nicol Stephen said:

“The SNP had no alternative. We had made it plain that if they did not climb-down we would pursue this tomorrow, the next day and next week.

“It is a good day for democracy. These well supported public transport projects will proceed and the will of parliament has prevailed.”
