Scottish Liberal Democrat Leader Nicol Stephen MSP has called for immediate action on climate change. A study by a team of scientists from Aberdeen University and the Scottish Agricultural College in Inverness has shown that Scottish marine life is suffering as a result of rising water temperatures
Nicol Stephen MSP“This latest report is a stark reminder that climate change is happening now, is pervasive and has hidden impacts across Scotland and the wider world.
“We must take radical action to respond to this threat. I believe the biggest change we can make is to end our dependence on fossil fuels and build a 100% renewable future. We are on course to beat the existing target of 40% of electricity from renewable sources by 2020, but we must go further.
“I want renewable energy to supply 100% of Scotland’s electricity by 2050. As Scotland's First Minister I want to be bold. We need radical action to target climate change now.”
