Candidate for Kirkcaldy
Lauren Jones (nee Peek) was born and raised in Glenrothes, but has lived in Kirkcaldy for the past three years. She has previously worked in the care industry, and now works in insurance. She got involved in politics to make a difference to local people.
She has first hand experience with youth unemployment and underemployment within Scotland, and wants to work to make a difference in this area. She is also keen to focus on environmental sustainability for future generations, and would like to see better integrated public transport.
Lauren has previously spent a lot of time volunteering in primary schools in both Glenrothes and Dunfermline and feels that a concerted effort needs to be made to ensure that all children are taught well, especially in their early years, which is why she supports the pupil premium being introduced in Scotland, to help eradicate the growing attainment gap.
