Liberal Democrat Scottish Affairs spokesperson Christine Jardine MP has today said that a new Ipsos MORI poll shows that Scots are worried about the impact of Brexit on the economy but will not be bounced into backing independence.
Ms Jardine said:
"These figures show that Scots are worried by Brexit. Up and down the United Kingdom, people and businesses will suffer.
"The First Minister has cynically sought to weaponise Brexit but this poll shows that the people of Scotland will not be bounced into backing independence.
"With the turmoil of Brexit the last thing we need is the turmoil of independence too. Instead, the sensible thing to do would be to give people a say on the terms of whatever deal Theresa May negotiates, with the option of an exit from Brexit."
