Candidate for Midlothian North & Musselburgh & the Lothian regional list
A native of Sheffield, Jacquie was educated at City School, Sheffield, University College of North Wales, Bangor and the University of Edinburgh.
Jacquie is a qualified social worker. She has worked at Liberton Hospital since 2003 after 16 years in Midlothian.
Jacquie is married to Simon who is a Landscape Architect/Forester. They have one son Huw (34). She has lived in Dunbar since 1989.
Jacquie has considerable political experience and has been a candidate at all levels including on the Holyrood Lothians list in 2003,2007 and 2011. She has been an East Lothian Councillor , with experience of being Cabinet Member for Health and Social Care and as a non Executive member of NHS Lothian Board (appointed by East Lothian Council). She is currently the Vice Chair/Secretary of Dunbar Community Council and active in a number of other community organisations.
Jacquie has introduced a range of Liberal Democrat policies at Scottish and UK conferences including the ending of the detention of child asylum seekers, promoting hospital nutrition, preventing the abuse of older people and introduction of plastic bag tax.
Jacquie has a range of interests including tapestry, travel and amateur drama. She and Simon own a farmhouse in Latvia.
