Scottish Liberal Democrats have praised confirmation by the Scottish Government today that it will pass on the full consequentials of increased UK Government spending on health.
Scottish Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Jim Hume MSP said:
"I'm pleased that the Scottish Government has followed the initiative of the coalition government and honoured the spending commitment in full to Scotland's hospitals. This multi-million boost should help health boards tackle the problems caused by the SNP Government, which took its eye off the ball on day-to-day issues in order to concentrate on their campaign for independence.
"Liberal Democrats want to go further, by increasing spending on the NHS across the UK. This will add to the money available for health in Scotland. It is only by ensuring decent public services that we can build a fairer society which provides opportunity for everyone."
