The takeover of HBOS and Lloyds TSB will see bank branches close with hundreds of jobs lost across Scotland and higher bank charges for customers.

The taxpayer has already paid billions of pounds to support British banks, we believe the Government should have secured guarantees about keeping brances open and protection of jobs.

The Scottish Parliament has already voted against the takeover of these banks, it is time for the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Prime Minister to call a halt now to the takeover.
