Scottish Liberal Democrat general election campaign chair, Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP has today, at a campaign event in Edinburgh, urged young voters to make sure they register to vote before the deadline so that they can have a say in the future of their country.
With the deadline for registration in two days time, Mr Cole-Hamilton claimed that considering the importance of this election, young people cannot afford to sit it out and must get involved and vote.
Mr Cole-Hamilton also declared that only the Liberal Democrats are making the steps necessary to leave behind a green legacy for future generations.
Commenting Mr Cole-Hamilton said:
“There are only two more days for young people to register to vote. Our platform on the Environment, on Europe and on Education, makes the Liberal Democrats the best choice for young people who want a brighter future.
“Leaving a sustainable legacy for our children is the most important task of this current generation and both UK and Scottish Government have failed in that task. We are campaigning outside the Green Investment Bank which has been privatised by the Conservatives. It shows how important it is to have strong, Liberal Democrat MPs standing up for the green agenda in Parliament.
“The Conservatives don't care for the environment. We created the Green Investment Bank and the Conservatives privatised it. Meanwhile the reckless cut to APD by the SNP will only further pollute our air.
“While the Conservatives continue to put forward a cold and mean-spirited vision of Britain, Liberal Democrats are committed to seeing a better future where we leave behind a world that is sustainable and green for our children. A brighter future is possible. And that is with the Liberal Democrats.
