Commenting as the Scottish Government once again missed its weekly A&E target, Scottish Liberal Democrat health spokesperson Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP said:
“It’s been 119 days since the A&E waiting target was last met across Scotland.
“Once again, the flagship Queen Elizabeth University Hospital (QEUH) is a cause for real concern.
“It has only met the weekly A&E target twice since it opened in May 2015, with performance currently sitting 10% below that of any other hospital in the country. Almost four hundred patients waited more than four hours to be seen there last week.
“For approaching two years, ministers and health bosses have been unable to get a grip of the situation at the QEUH. They have a duty to explain to staff and patients what they are going to do differently in order to finally turn this around.”
