Commenting on reports that Caledonian Sleeper staff have voted for strike action over working conditions, Scottish Liberal Democrat transport spokesperson Mike Rumbles MSP said:
“The Caledonian sleeper saga winds on and on. Rail bosses have lost the support of the staff that they will need to make this service a success.
“For passengers in the north who have already faced months of delays and new trains diverted to lowland routes, this will be another kick in the teeth.
“Rail bosses and ministers need to ensure that a deal is struck and this service reaches those passengers in the Highlands and North East who have been waiting for so long.”
