Responding to the announcement from Rosemount Medical Group in Aberdeen that they will close in January after being unable to fill staff vacancies, North East MSP Mike Rumbles said
"The SNP's poor handling of workforce planning has left GP surgeries high and dry, unable to find the skilled people they need. Staff and patients deserve better.
"4,500 patients are going to have to find an alternative GP as a result of the closure of this valued practice. This is a stressful and time-consuming process and for some will mean extra travel to boot.
"The effects of this will be felt for years to come. The new Health Secretary should immediately commit to publishing an annual report on workforce planning and lead an annual debate on it at Parliament. That would mean failings can be identified and rectified before it’s too late."
